I cut vinyl, chipboard, cardstock, fabric for appliques and templates plastic. Haven't us...I have one and absolutely adore it. Haven't used it to make stencils but I don't see why you couldn't. They are super easy to use. I've made vinyl signage for my work car, intricate cut paper greeting cards, and cute paper crafts. Actually, now that I Ingraham of it, yes, I have used it to cut a stencil and it worked perfectly.
