Massive SCA Purge

I have to admit, it hurts a little bit
to let the stainless armor go. Jeff is
my
"knight" in shining armor.
Work on the house has slowed down again as I am finally motivated to work on our way overdue massive SCA purge. Jeff and I used to spend almost all our discretionary time playing in a medieval recreation group, called SCA. They were fantastic years and we had a great time.

But as we get older, we just don't much feel like doing the chore of set-up and break-down in order to spend one day playing.

But we've been clinging onto the stuff for years now, thinking and hoping we might get back into it. Well, I believe the last year we camped was 2007. It's been long enough. We want our garage space back. So, I'm in the process of sifting and itemizing all this stuff that we're trying to get rid of and taking steps to make it happen.

Honestly, what really happened is I decided I wanted to spend several thousand dollars on Arts & Crafts rugs. I cut a deal with Jeff if I sold stuff to pay for it, he'd let me buy them, so I'm willing to let this unused stuff go to help make it happen. LOL

Oh so many good choices, but I love the eggplant color in these.

  1. Killer rugs. I have my eye on a couple of them.

  2. To me it just seems sad to have such nice SCA gear that isn't getting used. Better to find it a new home.

  3. I had no idea about SCA until a few years ago. Two of our dearest garden friends are long-time SCA enthusiasts.

Ahhh, there's nothing like the sight of a man in a nice set of armor.

    1. It was a lot of fun and we made a lot of friends, but the motivation to do all the work of camping just isn't there anymore.
