Bath Soapstone Install

The soapstone is in!!! I am really excited. And I think it looks great. Like we did in the kitchen, we're planning on oiling it.

The installers were pretty speedy and they did a great job. I was seriously impressed when those two guys just zipped right up the stairs with that slab.

Dropping it in place, there was minimal wall damage, though there is one small spot I need to fill and touch up the paint.
During the process we had a total headache with finding a sink that would fit in the cabinet. Despite the delays in getting them a proper sink, Portland Marble Works still delivered on time. I doubt they are the cheapest stone fabricator (I didn't shop around) but I was very satisfied with the work they did in our kitchen so I just hired them again for the bathroom.

They had to use a router to remove some of the wood on the front edge of the cabinet so the sink would fit.
They made it look like it was light. Trust me, this counter was HEAVY.
Dropping it in place.
And it's in

  2. Killer. It all looks like it was always there.

Every time I see soapstone, I love it more. Your looks greenish, does soapstone come in a variety of colors? I always thought it was just blackish grey.

    1. Yes, soapstone comes in a small pallet of colors. I worked hard to get these green slabs when I found them. I actually had to have them shipped from out of state. There are some NA varieties that are green, though they run closer to black. I am a huge fan of soapstone now.

    1. We installed soapstone in our kitchen in 2011 and I've been a huge fan ever since. We've had it for 5 years now and it looks good as new. We can set hot pots down on it without trivets and it's been amazingly trouble free.
