Everything is still a little dusty, but I don't see the point in cleaning when the floors in the stairway and upstairs bedrooms will be refinished next week, creating more dust.
(The color is a little off in these photos—the Hubbard Squash is a more mellow butter color, but we've had heavy rain the last few days so we don't have much in the way of natural light. It may be months before we can get good photos, unless we borrow some good lighting.)

We hope you all have a good Thanksgiving.
Wow! That is amazing! Great job! I love looking at before and after pictures. It really helps you to see how much work you've actually accomplished.
ReplyDeletewow that is a lot of stripping. How long did it take? Beautiful end results!
ReplyDeleteHow long it took is sort of a tough question. I started stripping the stairway and banister in early September--but it really only took about a month and a half if you don't include the weeks I didn't feel like working on it.
DeleteAll the doors, and windows, were stripped off-site. The rest of the woodwork was stripped in place as part of an extensive restoration last year--which took about two months total for a crew of 2 or 3 working on paint stripping.
It looks spectacular! I can't wait to see it. By the way, are you going to be ready for a guest in January? Just me...not the hoardes.
ReplyDeleteWe'd love to have you stay with us for 12th Night. The guest room will be ready.
DeleteAbsolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ashley. I think so too. =)
DeleteIt looks just beautiful. We hope to see it at your house's birthday party.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! It will be great to see you two again.

ReplyDeleteWhoa! I can really appreciate all the work you've done seeing the before and after photos. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful job! I'm so jealous yours is done! You did much more work than we did, so it's well deserved.
ReplyDeleteYour entryway looks stunning! It was pretty before, but now it looks so rich and warm. Much more inviting than before, and much less "clinical."
ReplyDeleteWow. Your house has stunning, stunning woodwork throughout. Lovely. Although I do not envy the paint strippers!!!
