Embroidered Pillow Designs (1910)

I've been poking around some of the period texts I downloaded a couple years ago and I ran across these black and white pictures of embroidered pillows. This particular publication is called "Home Needlework Magazine" and the photos are from the Feb 1910 edition.

Later Update: I thought I would add that this period publication, the "Home Needlework Magazine" is one of the best sources I've found for period embroidery designs. They didn't unfortunately give the patterns away for free as they were trying to sell them, but if you're looking for a source for what period embroidery patterns looked like, this is an excellent one. I just poked thru that one year of magazines (linked above) and found about 60 good examples that I liked well enough to screenshot. Quite a few years of the magazine are available and if I were motivated, I would surely find 100s of good designs I could use as a basis for modern reproductions.

  1. I love these! I need to make covers for my pillows on my sofas and haven't found anything I like. I think something like this would look great! Thanks for sharing!

    1. Thanks, I like them too. I actually found a bunch more good ones in later issues. I hope someday I'll be motivated to make a bunch of pillows for this house.
